Jim Park Voting: Rd 23: Carlton vs Drug Cheats - crashlander - 08-27-2016 For the last time in 2016, and to determine the winner of the Jim Park Medal, here we go! Remember: [1] At least 3 players need to get a mention. [2] No more than 10 votes for any one player. [3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F. [4] Votes must add up to 15. Re: Jim Park Voting: Rd 23: Carlton vs Drug Cheats - crashlander - 08-27-2016 Team: E There were times today when I thought this was our worst performance for the year but at other times we were not that bad (except kicking for goal). We ended up having SO many more Inside 50s that it shows we really are not as crap as the result appears. But we do have a HELL of a lot to do in the pre-season. Votes: [3] Cripps [3] Gibbs [2.5] Simpson [1.5] Docherty [1] Tuohy [1] White [1] Weitering [1] Buckley [1] Wright Explanations: [3] Cripps: I was and probably always will be amazed at the way that Cripps got scragged without getting near the ball and being held before he had taken possession. He way he was treated in the centre square was amazing, yet he got no frees. And he still got more centre clearances than any other player on the ground. He got 8 tackles as well to go with his 32 possessions. [3] Gibbs: Like Cripps, I was amazed that Gibbs got no frees in the middle, but he did work hard and was one of the reasons we did make such a decent comeback. [2.5] Simpson: Simmo was terrible early, beaten in one on ones and having his direct opponent getting goals, but he LIFTED so well, with 14 good disposals in the last quarter. [1.5] Docherty: Like Simmo, Docherty was thrashed early with him making mistakes and his opponents getting goals. But, like Simmo, he really lifted and tried desperately to get us back into the match. [1] Tuohy: The only one of our smaller defenders not to leak goals this week. Solid without being brilliant. [1] White: Started ordinarily, but got right on top of his man and gave us some good drive. [1] Weitering: His start and finish were pretty good and he managed to keep his man under control while providing some drive. [1] Buckley: 21 possessions was a bad game, especially after an ordinary start. [1] Wright: 3 good goals and it could have been more. Honourable Mentions: Armfield: Missing for 2 quarters. Graham: OK.
