Clearly a level above his teammates is Crocker and could be that player that ignites a few wins in the seniors if given the chance. He is battle ready and just needs opportunity... He was good - could have done a little more in the coal face though. Dow was supreme - hopefully this was a breakout moment for him. Re: VFL Finals Week 2: Carlton vs Brisbane - laj - 09-03-2022 Draw level, kick with a decent wind. How do we not win from there? Re: VFL Finals Week 2: Carlton vs Brisbane - Lods - 09-03-2022 Now that it's done and dusted it could be an interesting week as some fates are decided....including the runner's. The problem isn't really the finish, it's the poor use of the wind the first time around, the same applied to the AFL side. We only chase when we have no choice left but to chase, then when we hit the front we relax and lose! We badly have to work on this. Re: VFL Finals Week 2: Carlton vs Brisbane - laj - 09-03-2022 24 inside 50s for 3.8 in the last qtr. They had 3 for 2 goals AFTER we drew level and kicking with a big wind. Getting a bit sick of it. We have to improve on this "typical Carlton" crap. Re: VFL Finals Week 2: Carlton vs Brisbane - crashlander - 09-03-2022 Haven't seen the game yet; I was at a wedding. To kick 3 goals 8 in the last quarter to lose ... this is too much like the Carlton of 2022. It really does break the heart. From the stats: [1] Dow showed how good he could be. 41 possessions and 15 clearances! Can he do it in the seniors? Damned good question. [2] We struggled all year without a key forward. Crocker did the job, but he isn't 195 cm+. Really amazing, considering the structural issues our team had. [3] Mirkov really won the rucks. He had 52 taps! [4] Ned Cahill wants a chance. Can we give it to him? He had 10 tackles as a small forward. |
