Re: 2018 Jim Park Medal Analysis - Professer E - 07-31-2018 MBB is correct. The points tends to track the B@F results fairly closely. Re: 2018 Jim Park Medal Analysis - crashlander - 08-06-2018 Rd 19: Carlton vs Gold Coast: Isn't it nice to have win again! 18 people voted this week, a considerable improvement over recent weeks and recent poor performances. The rating at 9.02 represented a B. A big step up from the F's of recent weeks and the best of the year. (The Essendon win gained a score of 8.98.) 14 different players managed a mention this week. The Votes: Cripps, Patrick 481 Murphy, Marc 281 Petrevski - Seton, Sam 185 Weitering, Jacob 15 Curnow, Edward 55 Dow, Patrick 45 Lobbe, Matthew 45 Marchbank, Caleb 40 Lang, Darcy 35 Curnow, Charles 15 Simpson, Kade 10 Lamb, Jed 5 Rowe, Sam 5 Byrne, Ciaran 5 Paddy Cripps had another enormous week with 481 votes! And it scared off the voters. There were 13 this week, compared to 17 for the same round last year and 18 last week. The rating was exactly 5.00, the lowest our system accepts: F. :-[ And we deserved it the way we played. That said, 15 players managed a mention. In other times I would be happy with that. This week it indicates that few players stood out. Votes: McKay, Harrison 185 Cripps, Patrick 175 Thomas, Dale 152 Petrevski - Seton, Sam 58 Murphy, Marc 56 Dow, Patrick 27 Marchbank, Caleb 27 Lobbe, Matthew 15 Rowe, Sam 13 Simpson, Kade 12 Polson, Cameron 8 Byrne, Ciaran 8 Curnow, Edward 6 Curnow, Charles 6 Lamb, Jed 4 The top score of 185 was pretty low, due to the rating. But when we play poorly, the resulting votes show it. It is Harry McKay's 1st BOG. Patrick Cripps has 10 BOG's this year and 3 2nds! What a domination! Daisy Thomas getting votes also puts him firmly in the top 5, with the likelihood that he will stay there. Progressives: 4770 - Cripps, Patrick (0) 1992 - Curnow, Edward (0) 1549 - Simpson, Kade (0) 1505 - Curnow, Charles (0) 1373 - Thomas, Dale (0) 1085 - Fisher, Zac (0) 859 - Jones, Liam (0) 805 - Murphy, Marc (0) 760 - Kreuzer, Matthew (0) 527 - Petrevski - Seton, Sam (0) 392 - Weitering, Jacob (0) 349 - Lamb, Jed (0) 322 - Kerridge, Sam (0) 291 - Casboult, Levi (0) 289 - Wright, Matthew (0) 280 - Rowe, Sam (0) 272 - Dow, Patrick (0) 245 - McKay, Harrison (0) 241 - Marchbank, Caleb (0) 203 - Plowman, Lachlan (0) 195 - Kennedy, Matthew (0) 180 - Silvagni, Jack (0) 145 - Graham, Nick (0) 140 - Phillips, Andrew (0) 88 - Lobbe, Matthew (0) 81 - O'Brien, Lochie (0) 71 - Cuningham, David (0) 60 - Garlett, Jarrod (0) 37 - Mullett, Aaron (0) 36 - Lang, Darcy (0) 15 - Polson, Cameron (0) 13 - Byrne, Ciaran (0) 6 - Pickett, Jarrod (0) This one has been won a LONG way from home. Cripps is over double the score of his nearest rival. Daisy cannot be displaced from the top 5 at this point, a remarkable improvement. The Curnow brothers have stagnated of late. Re: 2018 Jim Park Medal Analysis - cookie2 - 08-14-2018 @Crash That demonstrates dramatically how we are so dependent on such a few players and how we fall away badly in performance as we go down the list! Re: 2018 Jim Park Medal Analysis - crashlander - 08-14-2018 Absolutely. This year has been the greatest imbalance I can remember. What is worse is that our 5th ranked player, Daisy Thomas, is clearly 5th, yet has had some games this year bad enough to call his retirement. And he has missed a game or two. He is also one of our elder statesmen. Simmo is currently 3rd, and he has also been much less effective than last year. He is also the oldest player on our list. The rest of the top 5 consists of the Curnow brothers and Patrick Cripps. Our 11th ranked player is Weitering, who was dropped earlier this year because his form was terrible, and hasn't been that good since his return. These scores are a really damning statistic about our performance. Re: 2018 Jim Park Medal Analysis - crashlander - 08-17-2018 Rd 21: Carlton vs Fremantle We were good for a while, but we were smashed in the 3rd quarter. With the game not on free to air TV there were not many voters. Only 12 people bothered. It was actually 3 more than for the same round last year (where we were also not on TV). The rating this week was 6.39, which represents an E+. Fair enough, I guess. At least it was better than the straight F's. 11 different players managed a mention. Votes: Cripps, Patrick 277 Thomas, Dale 256 Lobbe, Matthew 101 McKay, Harrison 91 Petrevski - Seton, Sam 69 Rowe, Sam 64 Curnow, Charles 32 Murphy, Marc 21 Dow, Patrick 21 Simpson, Kade 16 Byrne, Ciaran 11 This is Lobbe's highest rating (3rd). Cripps is there almost every week. Daisy has 3 1st places, a 2nd and 2 3rds. Progressive Voting totals: 5047 - Cripps, Patrick (0) 1992 - Curnow, Edward (0) 1629 - Thomas, Dale (0) 1565 - Simpson, Kade (0) 1537 - Curnow, Charles (0) 1085 - Fisher, Zac (0) 859 - Jones, Liam (0) 827 - Murphy, Marc (0) 760 - Kreuzer, Matthew (0) 597 - Petrevski - Seton, Sam (0) 392 - Weitering, Jacob (0) 349 - Lamb, Jed (0) 344 - Rowe, Sam (0) 335 - McKay, Harrison (0) 322 - Kerridge, Sam (0) 293 - Dow, Patrick (0) 291 - Casboult, Levi (0) 289 - Wright, Matthew (0) 241 - Marchbank, Caleb (0) 203 - Plowman, Lachlan (0) 195 - Kennedy, Matthew (0) 189 - Lobbe, Matthew (0) 180 - Silvagni, Jack (0) 145 - Graham, Nick (0) 140 - Phillips, Andrew (0) 81 - O'Brien, Lochie (0) 71 - Cuningham, David (0) 60 - Garlett, Jarrod (0) 37 - Mullett, Aaron (0) 36 - Lang, Darcy (0) 24 - Byrne, Ciaran (0) 15 - Polson, Cameron (0) 6 - Pickett, Jarrod (0) Patrick Cripps continues to dominate, being 3000 (!!) votes in front of 2nd place getter, Ed Curnow. Daisy has jumped up into 3rd spot! |
