Re: R21 Carlton vs Melbourne (Sun twilight at the 'G) - bluesgirl - 08-21-2015 Is it to much to ask that Garlett doesn't kick any? Couldn't handle anything else this week. "If you're stupid enough to deliberately initiate a losing culture, then arrogantly think you can flick a switch and start winning once you have enough picks, then you get what you deserve - a club that doesn't know how to win, a club that loses players and fails to attract new ones, a club that loses supporters, a club that is perennially anchored to the bottom of the ladder." Spot on. Carlton just don't seem to get it, and until they do, the story won't get any better. Can we really blame players for losing heart in this kind of environment? Even if the clubs intent is not explicitly said, the players are not stupid, they will have figured out what the end game is. This is (a part of) whats killing Carlton. Until we have a President, board and CEO who will not stand for this sort of behavior, tactics or culture then Carlton will always have problems. It starts at the top, the new Pres and CEO have shown their colors, and until they change their attitude or are replaced, the club will go nowhere fast. Re: R21 Carlton vs Melbourne (Sun twilight at the 'G) - Professer E - 08-21-2015 Whats wrong with getting serious and beating this mob... second last is waaaaaaaaaaay better than last IMO. Any of the kids mooted to go in the top three is fine by me anyway. F it, let's promote a winning culture not a loser mentality like the Saints or Dees have had for the last 40 years. If the club had their act together players would know what is expected at VFL level, perform or not then get the opportunity to play at league level. Otherwise its all 'have a go' and 'give them a chance' which smacks of amateurism. Play to win. Otherwise what is the point.
