I can understand some don’t want Betty or Charlie et al as our head of state and as Australia becomes less a child of Britain I’m starting to lean toward an Australian head of state
As you point out G2C, effectively our system isn’t broken, we could have a HOS elected by 2/3 majority of both houses.
Popular vote..? PASS.
Edit: Current GG = Head Of State, elected by joint sitting of parliament.

Our system is fine.
If we become a republic...
You don't need a head of state.
You could end up with Eddie McGuire as President...if they give the vote to Collingwood supporters.
The Prime Minister is as high as you need to go.
