I've got Marchbank instead of TDK (with McG playing forward with SOS rucking backup) Otherwise the same. McGovern down forward is interesting and I don't mind some left field thinking but I prefer him down back. Martin needs to show me he is fit and firing and play a decent string of games back to back before I would consider him as a starter. TDK and Pittonet is my preferred ruck set up with Jack used less in the backup role. The only complication is the MC’s determination to rotate Docherty between midfield and defence. That could mean an extra defender and one less midfielder/forward. Otherwise that extra defender would probably have to come in ...from either Plowman or Cincotta....I like the latter but not overly keen on three newbies in the team especially first up vs Richmond and then Geelong. (Eccept those out for the year) We are trying to achieve an ideal best 22 and track changes in our thinking throughout the year. Injuries from one week to the next should not alter that thinking. Re: Pick your best 22 - PART 2 - After the pre-season games - DJC - 03-05-2023 Although it would be Cincotta’s first AFL game, he is a mature player with several VFL seasons under his belt and I think he’d take it in his stride. Cincotta like Saad and Williams are critical - due to their leg speed, dash, taking the game on and foot skills. Despite his age he will only get better with more and more training session he has the talent. He can defend and tackle hard. Cowman is more of a lock down like dare I say it Bruce Doull! Plowman should never get a game ahead of Cowman and Kemp. |
