If Pickett deserved a game surely Buckley did as well. Could have been handy as that small half forward/wing/small defender. He is a versatile player I would play him in front of Boekhorst/Pickett/Smedts by a mile.

I guess Buckley, White and Palmer are the next inline fringe....Buckley may have been useful vs the Tigers small forwards, not sure Bolton thought their forward line through too much, we probably had 1-2 too many tall backs...

I think Jones, once he has gained enough experience, is agile enough to play tall or small, as is Marchbank.

Jones has incredible closing speed, and looks to have a greatly improved tank.

But I agree, assuming Buckley actually got into position he wouldn't have shrugged that marking attempt in the last. Would he have kicked the goal, who knows!

Been a bit off Buckley but tend to agree he probably can play a few more positions...small lock down defender has been an issue for a long while..

I wonder if there are some politics going on at PP? Pickett and Smedts getting a gig ahead of Palmer, White and even Kerridge is perplexing. As is persisting with Samo who seems to have let all the publicity go to his head.

The Dawks poked the bear last week, now we are going to cop the retaliation this week.

Crows are pretenders IMO...beat up big on the poor teams but the ones who play with a bit of grunt worry them....if we pick a good team we will be competitive.
Maybe Gibbs can up his trade value with a BOG......

IN -  Help me out please Big Grin

Hopefully Fisher, Cuningham and Williamson are fit. Time to play Jaksch to just to find out what he got before we make a decision on him. The lack of a 2nd key forward hurt big time last week.

Fantasyland. Jaksch is in exactly the same position as Jones. We know exactly what they have to offer until, over a 4-5 week period in the NBs they can show us something different they can offer. Compare the pair, Jaksch is one dimensional, inconsistent and lacks purpose (lazy).

Sadly, that's very true.

Like many supporters, I was expecting Jaksch to be the swingman that would change our fortunes.  It's not going to happen and there'll be a spot on our list in 2018.
