Cripps flogged Blicavs in the second half but played more as an outside mid. I thought that he showed his versatility and was just outside my best five players. Keeping Blicavs to no possessions in the second half is an exceptional effort. He was a touch fumbly, though - which is very unlike him. Might have just been that the heat at the contest was up another notch from any other game this year Re: Rd 10: Post Game Paradise!: Carlton vs Geelong - blue4life - 05-30-2016 Bolton's post game comments show how little the average supporter knows about what's going on inside the team, and I'm no exception by the way. We've kicked a huge goal employing this fella, better late than never. Think we can cut the kid some slack. Don't underestimate the 2 clean pick ups in the back half... clean hand sin pressure situations are absolutely vital. Tough School. Indeed. Re: Rd 10: Post Game Paradise!: Carlton vs Geelong - mateinone - 05-30-2016 Anyone knocking Weitering's game is wrong, he played another very good game of football and still continues to look far more composed than a first year player. This guy will be a superstar and if Boomer's prediction on Cripps were to come true we will be made Re: Rd 10: Post Game Paradise!: Carlton vs Geelong - Jeffy38 - 05-30-2016 (05-30-2016, 03:04 AM)mateinone link Wrote:Anyone knocking Weitering's game is wrong, he played another very good game of football and still continues to look far more composed than a first year player. Would be 50% shots for most of the best forwards in the competition and though he went 0.2 for those, it wasn't some fortuitous miracle he did. in fact 0.2 would have been just about as likely as 2.0 imo. With great respect, mateinone, Hawkins should have kicked both goals. The fact that his record from that area is 10.16, is frankly a reflection of his poor kicking, rather than the fact that any decent footballer would have kicked those goals. Thankfully, he didn't. Bottom line Mickey, is that we won by 19 points. If we kick 2.2 to 6.3, we don't win the game no matter how on we are. If 4 of those Geelong behinds which should have been goals are kicked, we lose. I would have agreed with you, had we beaten them by 6 goals. Anyway, it's the old saying, if my aunty had balls she'd be my uncle. We all know, or at least should know, that straight kicking makes a huge difference to a result. While taking nothing away from the boys endevour, this game was a prime example of that. In fact, I can't recall him fumbling more in a game than he did on Sunday. Having said that, if his body stands up to the inevitable wear and tear of this gane, he will be one of the greatest footballers to have ever played for our club. |
