Anyone knocking Weitering's game is wrong, he played another very good game of football and still continues to look far more composed than a first year player.
This guy will be a superstar and if Boomer's prediction on Cripps were to come true we will be made

Okay just went back and looked at both on the 'smart replay' and it showed Hawkins was 10.16 from that range over his career (I think that is what those stats are showing), which means he was considerably more likely to miss both than score both and without doing the math, only marginally more likely to score 1.1 than he was to score 0.2
With great respect, mateinone, Hawkins should have kicked both goals. The fact that his record from that area is 10.16, is frankly a reflection of his poor kicking, rather than the fact that any decent footballer would have kicked those goals. Thankfully, he didn't.

Agree with Big Nic on our accurate kicking - I said earlier Army sometimes just misses those running into goals but nailed his three - however I disagree the cats would've walloped us had they kicked straight in the first - still think we were on yday and nothing was going to change that.
Also agree re Lions - would not be at all surprised if we were beaten as we were fierce and must be feeling it today - I hope we can win it though!
Bottom line Mickey, is that we won by 19 points. If we kick 2.2 to 6.3, we don't win the game no matter how on we are.
If 4 of those Geelong behinds which should have been goals are kicked, we lose.
I would have agreed with you, had we beaten them by 6 goals.
Anyway, it's the old saying, if my aunty had balls she'd be my uncle.
We all know, or at least should know, that straight kicking makes a huge difference to a result. While taking nothing away from the boys endevour, this game was a prime example of that.

Agree, completely with that Mil. In fact, I can't recall him fumbling more in a game than he did on Sunday.
Having said that, if his body stands up to the inevitable wear and tear of this gane, he will be one of the greatest footballers to have ever played for our club.
