Re: Rd 7: Post Game Pleasure: Carlton vs Collingwood - JonHenry - 05-07-2016 Casboult is great when he gets physical. He hurts opposition players like no one else but doesn't do it enough. I don't think he has ever been reported? When he dumps someone or crashes a pack they stay hit. That marking yday was as good as you will see. As for Docherty, hats off. Outstanding game, hard at it, uncompromising, attacking. Great half back footy. Provocatively, I doubt we could have or would have won all three under the previous coaching in our recent past. In fact, I'm bloody sure of it. Reading some of these posts you'd think we'd lost. That said Agree with most of that apart from sumner and plot an being passengers. Summers best game for the club. Plot an was quiet but quite happy for him not to be noticed. Also, players were invested in the Wayne Britain game plan. Should never have got rid of him... If a player with a big downside is getting touches, taking marks and kicking goals the coach will play him. They're job depends on results. The moment they're not doing that their downside will get them dropped very quickly as that will turn a coach's frustration to being pissed off. I have no doubt you believe this as you've said it for a decade now. However, like in the past, it is simply not that simple. Results now, or results in 3 years. If you overlook poor behaviour now, it will continue and spread and still be there in 3 years. Now, when wins are not the highest priority, is when you try and weed out the poor behaviour. That was it doesn't come back to bite you when you can least afford it too. Be that with Everitt, Murphy or anyone else inbetween. Sort it out now! Would love to hear from some of the Gibbs-haters, he was just outstanding todayI wouldn't say I was a Gibbs hater more a Gibbs frustrater. Can be classy, silky and smooth one moment then lack vigour and intent next. The last few games he has shown what he is capable of and that is fantastic because when he is switched on he is a pleasure to watch and we win. Way to step up Gibbsy. Even 2013 was good. When did he rip the pec muscle? Was it end of 2014 or early 2015? Clearly hampered by it, probably the body is right now and confidence is back. I remember an interview with him and how he said Dean Laidley worked very closely with him to help him stayed "switched on" for longer periods and how it was a concentration and confidence thing for him. Maybe its all coming back to him now. Lets hope. Go Blues Re: Rd 7: Post Game Pleasure: Carlton vs Collingwood - cimm1979 - 05-07-2016 (05-07-2016, 10:24 PM)cookie2 link Wrote:X 2. Rowe fumbles too much to be a Silvagni - type. But he is playing very well at the moment and is the key tall defender. His body work and concentration have been excellent, much improved over the first couple of weeks. I believe his tongue is firmly in his cheek. But Rowe has been good to very good three weeks in a row. Out bodying and out playing old hands like Pav and young guns like Moore and Daniher. That people still want to bag him out say a lot about their ingrained insecurity about being wrong. |
