Re: Rd 6: Post Game Passion: Carlton vs. Essendon - madbluboy - 05-03-2016 Carlton and Essendon supporters were united in laughter at the comedy act that took place on Sunday, the game was an embarrassment to the sport. Had to re-Check the score to show that we actually WON. There are some real sad sacks around the place. Yes, winning breeds confidence and I'm a believer in the theory that if you keep winning, no matter how ugly it may look, you will eventually improve and win prettier. Constantly losing, no matter how well you may have played, will undermine team morale and confidence eventually. Our two wins are absolute GOLD atm. I have got us down to win at least six games this season and we're one ahead now ![]() There has been a huge improvement in our defence and we just need to forward line to function as well! Re: Rd 6: Post Game Passion: Carlton vs. Essendon - LP - 05-03-2016 AFLCA Votes Rnd 6. CARLTON v ESSENDON 9 Bryce Gibbs (Carl) 9 Dale Thomas (Carl) 5 Adam Cooney (Ess) 3 Kade Simpson (Carl) 2 Ed Curnow (Carl) 2 Courtenay Dempsey (Ess) That's Gibbs equal top two weeks running, yet apparently many think we need to get rid of him while he still has some value! Frightening, that people think you can pick a replacement like buying a packet of smokes! :o Re: Rd 6: Post Game Passion: Carlton vs. Essendon - MilkIt - 05-03-2016 (05-03-2016, 02:33 AM)LP link Wrote:AFLCA Votes Rnd 6. Against Freo and Essendon : . If he gets 10 against North or Hawks then I might change my mind. For now, he's the best trade bait we have.

You're right I'd prefer to go back to the wallopings of last year, they were far less embarrassing :

Give me an ugly win over a good looking loss any day. Watched Chris Scott last night saying early in the season 2001 despite the media talking the Loins chances up as big flag chances they didn't have the internal belief. He said that all changed in only one game when they beat the bombers mid year. He said from that game we walked off the ground knowing what we were capable of. The went on to win the next 3 in row! Wins are very very important to self belief - Maybe even more so to a developing list. Re: Rd 6: Post Game Passion: Carlton vs. Essendon - jeza - 05-03-2016 I actually thought the freo game was worse. Some of the field kicking was excellent on Sunday given the strength of the wind. Gibbs set shot 40 out straight in front didn't make the distance as a guide. Contested possession domination was also really good. If we could get Walker and Jaksch into the fwd line it would be a big help. Bugger about Weitering. |
