Re: Post Game Celebration: AFL 2019 Rd 12: Carlton vs Brisbane - IvanAwfulbigone - 06-08-2019 To say we would have lost without Cripps, whilst probably true, is a little too pessimistic for my liking. After q time, no-one was truly horrible which is a nice change )I’d leave Casboult down back. For a while we’ve been saying that, as good as Weits is, he’s not equipped to handle the opposition monsters. Mind you, no-one is having much luck with Hawkins atm. Speaking of Weits, has anyone noticed his shoulder is no longer strapped? Probably playing injury-free for the first time in 2.5 years. Jones - IF he comes back, that is (not was - concussion diminishes a person permanently) a horrible incident and injury - i’d like to see tried across the centre as someone has already suggested. Maybe even as a chop out for Cripps? Might be a bit too left field but he does have good closing speed and is certainly not scared to put his body on the line. i’m fearful of what might happen when Murphy comes back. I dunno, just feels like the winds of change are in the air and it feels good on my face. Finally, to add my own touch of pessimism: Winning rate for first game of coaches appointed mid-season = 50% Winning rate for second game of same coaches = 19% Re: Post Game Celebration: AFL 2019 Rd 12: Carlton vs Brisbane - DJC - 06-08-2019 (06-08-2019, 10:36 PM)capcom link Wrote:The board deserves NO credit for this victory or ANY beyond until they realise their utter failures and resign. True, but they will all be basking in the glory and patting each other on the back. It was a stirring win though, particularly after the inept first quarter, and even the board has the right to celebrate. Yep the board is ultimately responsible for each outcome. And who are you saying should take their place? Re: Post Game Celebration: AFL 2019 Rd 12: Carlton vs Brisbane - Baggers - 06-08-2019 As one of LOB's critics like to say I was encouraged by his effort yesterday. Didn't look out of place and now some cautious optimism. Levi looking quite at home down back! Some strong and timely grabs. Quoted in one of the papers (sorry I forget which one though likely The Age) but I did hear it live on Triple M around 6:30pm Friday. When asked about the selection committee and the potential next coach Judd replied that they won't be appointing anyone needing 'training wheels'. Re: Post Game Celebration: AFL 2019 Rd 12: Carlton vs Brisbane - Mantis - 06-08-2019 Judd comments. I hope this link works. A cheap shot indeed. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/carlton/carlton-football-director-chris-judd-says-club-wants-immediate-uptick-from-brendon-boltons-replacement/news-story/78c2377121516c1bf787a09c6719bd25 Re: Post Game Celebration: AFL 2019 Rd 12: Carlton vs Brisbane - Mantis - 06-08-2019 Try this from the Herald Sun. Judds comments were; “We’re not going to bring in a coach where’s there’s a feeling that they have got training wheels on, or there has got to be drop before there’s an uptick. “We think there’s a lot of talent on our list and whoever comes in, be that a young coach or an old coach, we’re hoping an expecting an uptick on day one.” Re: Post Game Celebration: AFL 2019 Rd 12: Carlton vs Brisbane - PaulP - 06-09-2019 (06-08-2019, 11:53 PM)Mantis link Wrote:Try this from the Herald Sun. The Club that goes from black to white. They have, correctly or otherwise, convinced themselves that our list is star studded, and the new coach has no grace period of any kind. 1980's CFC. Well, at least they've made it public knowledge, so the new coach should be under no illusions. Re: Post Game Celebration: AFL 2019 Rd 12: Carlton vs Brisbane - Mantis - 06-09-2019 Great interview on the Sunday Footy Show with Teague. I will post the basics of what he said. |
