Still not seeing a problem. Re: 2018 Rd 5: Pre-Game Pessimism: Carlton vs West Coast - LP - 04-20-2018 I wish the club would make audio only links available for download because our corporate network security blocks streaming. We can download video and audio files and play them, but we cannot stream videos, we can sometimes stream audio. Seems odd but that is the way it works, I wonder if others have similar issues! Allegedly it is to do with bandwidth, people walk away from their workstation and leave videos streaming which destroys the bandwidth for everybody else as each stream is unique. As opposed to downloading, which puts a file in the local server cache and everybody who listens to it gets the local security cleared version. Not sure if that is true, but it's how it was explained to me. Re: 2018 Rd 5: Pre-Game Pessimism: Carlton vs West Coast - townsendcalling - 04-20-2018 Now that McKay is in, what would we consider a pass make for him, come 7:10 tomorrow evening???? Repeat leads, working his ar5e off between F50 and the wing A run down tackle! ;D Some highlights of his ground level ability. Use of his bulk, make defenders nervous! I know he can mark, I don't care if he clunks some or not as long as I see the stuff we lack, we have plenty of clunkers who give us NADA! Re: 2018 Rd 5: Pre-Game Pessimism: Carlton vs West Coast - deags - 04-20-2018 Effort, and nothing less. I want to see him making leads (repeatedly, not just one offs), I want him chasing defensively and I want him moving in the forward 50 making room for others. I don't care how many he kicks, if he isn't doing those things he won't make an impact longer term. If he is doing those things, and he has any ability, he will go alright long term. Re: 2018 Rd 5: Pre-Game Pessimism: Carlton vs West Coast - LP - 04-20-2018 I'd love nothing better than for McGovern or Naitanui to float into McKay's space and for the kid to turn them into a tackle bag / step ladder! Something I haven't seen at Carlton since Fev pulled the pin! I want some smart-ar5e Wet Toaster to get in McKay's face, and then I want McKay to Ragdoll the Toaster like the smart-ar5e is made of straw! I want McKay to show he's ready to go head to head with men! Then I want him to inspire his team-mates to stand up and be counted! I want McKay to put his Sticks Fevolution suit on and go out there and turn some Wet Toast flog into a ping pong ball, give us a reason to go to the footy again! Let me leave the ground thinking I've watched some footy, not an U7s Girls Competitive Macramé practice match! I took the Girls reference out because some of those U7 Girls can be brutal, it's like they are tuning up for a gig on MKR! Other than that, not much at all! ;D Re: 2018 Rd 5: Pre-Game Pessimism: Carlton vs West Coast - PaulP - 04-20-2018 (04-20-2018, 04:00 AM)townsendcalling link Wrote:Now that McKay is in, what would we consider a pass make for him, come 7:10 tomorrow evening???? Effort. It's a bit much expecting him to come in stone cold and turn it on. The main thing for him is to give 100% for every second he is on the ground. As deags said . . . . effort. But surely not week after week after week ? I'm sure they know enough about football to see what we see, plus a whole lot more. I'm not so sure they do Paul, we are on the bottom for a reason and if they were employed in any other business field they would be unemployed now based on results.... IMO Mckay's promotion to the seniors had more to do with dealing with media pressure due to poor results than any great form in the NB's and Cuninghams demotion rates alongside Polson's promotion to the senior team a couple of weeks ago as mystifying at best... Re: 2018 Rd 5: Pre-Game Pessimism: Carlton vs West Coast - Baggers - 04-20-2018 Just watched BBs media conference, I know some might not agree but I reckon the bloke is a class act considering where we find ourselves... loved his gags about cliches, and why we relented and are playing H. What else can he say other than what he said??!! The bloke is having to be the face for mass list turnover, unreasonable numbers of injured blokes, too many inexperienced blokes taking the field through necessity, flop recruits from other clubs and a marketing dept. Phew. I think I feel better about the whole shemozzle we presently find ourselves in because I've dropped all expectation for 2018. Now all I want to see is effort. Fair dinkum pressure. Blooding, gradually, kids. Further improvement in recruits of the previous 2 years. And some anti-social ruthlessness which we showed in BBs first 2 years. And Judge, McKay, SOS... about time you blokes took some of the heat as well rather than leaving it all to the coach and Juddy. How about you 3 showing some ticker and start speaking up (with conviction) re our situation and demonstrating some ridgy didge support for the senior coach/players. No time for wimps skulking around in the shadows... never was a strong, united and forceful message more needed than right fkn now from you three. So get off your flabby @rses and let the football world know how 'Bound By Blue' the club is, DEMONSTRATE it by confronting the media yourselves ...at least we'll then know that 'BBB' is more than a glib marketing slogan. |
