Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - ElwoodBlues1 - 07-02-2023 (07-02-2023, 12:15 PM)rocky link Wrote:This bloke loves this type of situation. He'll take them all the way.Surely we have enough runs and we will bowl smarter than what Green did. Cummins field placings late were woeful too...big gaps for that down the ground half pull shot. Got sucked in by Broad too....too much chat and not enough smarts. I'd bring Starc back for Broad and pitch it up with the odd bouncer. Need to take the crowd out of the game. Bairstow was out but it was a bit similar to Mankadding a batsman imho and whether its a spirit of the game call. I'm sure England will be trying it on now themselvesĀ and over doing it like they did with bouncers and making the game more farcical next test. Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - LP - 07-02-2023 Dumb cricket by Australia, wasted the moving pill, then just spent 30 minutes bowling the same old repetitive rubbish. Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - Mantis - 07-02-2023 Steve Smith drops a catch he should have taken. That could have won us the match. Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - rocky - 07-02-2023 Dumb bowling continues Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - Mantis - 07-02-2023 When is the bowling line and length going to change? This is like watching T20 cricket against a weak bowling attack. Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - ElwoodBlues1 - 07-02-2023 Prediction ..the Lyon partnership at the end of 15 runs will be the difference....I hope. Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - LP - 07-02-2023 I'd say Australia are putting the brakes on to pin their hope to the new ball, really over the last couple of hours we've been exposed as a bunch of mindless robots. Serious questions have to be asked about our leadership, win or lose! Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - ElwoodBlues1 - 07-02-2023 Stokes gone ....in a blaze of glory. Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - dodge - 07-02-2023 Just bowl at the stumps pleeease. Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread - crashlander - 07-03-2023 This test will probably be remembered for what happened to Bairstow, but it really shouldn't. Backyard cricketers are not stupid enough to walk down the pitch without knowing the ball is dead. [1] England's Bodyline bowling was disgraceful. It wasn't acceptable back in the 1930's, it wasn't acceptable when the West Indies pushed the boundaries, it isn't acceptable now. The sooner it gets addressed, the better. [2] That catch - unbelievable. [3] The MCC - disgraceful. 3 members have been suspended. Slap on the wrist. [4] Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith's innings. [5] Ben Stokes' innings. 155 runs at pace. |
