Jim Park Voting 2022 AFL Rd 17 Carlton vs West Coast - crashlander - 07-08-2022 Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos: [1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less. [2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps) [3] Three players at least must get a mention. [4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-. Hopefully we'll have guys to vote for. That says a lot. Votes: [1.5] Sam Docherty [1.5] Adam Cerra [1.5] Matthew Kennedy [1.5] George Hewett [1.5] Harry McKay [1.5] Charlie Curnow [1.5] Tom de Koning [1.5] Patrick Cripps [1] Sam Walsh [0.5] Corey Durdin [0.5] Nick Newman [0.5] Zac Fisher [0.5] Lewis Young Explanations: [1.5] Sam Docherty: Doc has been amazing this year, and again this week. The drive he supplies has been amazing. [1.5] Adam Cerra: So much better than last week, Cerra was still good when we weren’t so good. 27 possessions. [1.5] Matthew Kennedy: Another really solid game from Matthew. 27 possessions, 7 tackles and t good clearances. [1.5] George Hewett: Another really solid game from George; 26 possessions, 5 tackles and 9 clearances. [1.5] Harry McKay: Did what a key forward had to do. 5 goals and 7 marks, and it could have better! [1.5] Charlie Curnow: Did what a key forward had to do. 5 goals and 8 marks, and it could have better! [1.5] Tom de Koning: Dominated in the centre in the 1st and last quarters. 7 clearances from a ruckman is a great return. [1.5] Patrick Cripps: He might not be in the God-like form of early in the years, but he was tagged closely and still got 10 clearances! 24 possessions and a great goal was a return 99% of AFL players would envy. [1] Sam Walsh: Relatively well held for a while, but Sam just burnt them off when the game was to be won. 25 possessions and 4 clearances. [0.5] Corey Durdin: The defensive pressure he creates is something we need quite badly. 2 goals and 5 tackles is just the surface of his performance. [0.5] Nick Newman: Keeps his opponents in starvation corner, while contributing. Solid! [0.5] Zac Fisher: A little patchy, but still produced some great thing. His pace is something our midfield is better for. [0.5] Lewis Young: A very solid game in defence. Got to a lot of contests and was beaten in very few indeed. Honourable Mentions: Jack Silvagni: Not perhaps back to his best, but it was lightyears better than last week. Competed well, tackles well and made very few mistakes. Adam Saad: Not getting votes this week simply because the ball didn’t get near him in the 1st and last quarters. Does what is needed and does it with panache. |
